The Altar Server Ministry provides the youth of our parish with a special  opportunity to reverently assist the celebrant and/or deacon during Sunday Mass and at special liturgies throughout the year.

Training begins by witnessing Masses with the Altar Servers of the Mass. There will be extra practices for special services during Holy Week, Easter, and Christmas seasons. The Altar Server Ministry is open to youth of St. Joseph Church who have made their First Communion.

Masters of Ceremony 
Some of our senior servers advance in ministry as Masters of Ceremony, where they serve at Mass in overseeing the action and flow of the Mass.  Escorting lectors, overseeing the servers, and assisting at the altars are just some of the ways in which the Masters of Ceremony exercise their function and role. 

Senior Servers
Servers who have experience serving at the Altar and are currently High School students are called upon to serve a leadership role during Mass. They should also be willing assist the Priest and Deacon to help train newer Altar Servers.
