NH CATHOLIC CHARITIES APPEAL
Miracles Happen Everyday
Next weekend you will be asked to donate to the 2008 Catholic Charities Annual Appeal. Each year we ask you, as part of the Catholic community, to answer this call to help people who face hardship and unbearable challenges. For 2008, our parish donation goal is: $29,000. Your gift goes directly to feeding the hungry, healing the wounded hearts of children, comforting the elderly, and providing hope through our Parish and Community Outreach program. For instance, an elderly client in a mobile home park with limited retirement resources faced electrical disconnection. With advocacy by NHCC and a payment plan instituted, she was able to keep her electricity on and will probably try to stay in her home for another year. Meanwhile, linked with additional information by NHCC staff, she is applying for subsidized senior housing and should be ready to move as her name comes to the top of the waiting list for such housing.
Your generosity in this appeal offers an opportunity to truly make miracles happen for so many people in New Hampshire, some of whom may be from our own community.

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me. In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am, you also may be."
- Jn 14:1-3

ADORATION
In his book “An Invitation to Faith” Pope Benedict XVI states that Adoration means entering the depths of our hearts in communion with the Lord, who makes himself bodily present in the Eucharist. In the monstrance, he always entrusts himself to us and asks us to be united with his Presence, with his risen Body. Please spend some time with the Lord at Eucharistic Adoration on Fridays from 8:00AM to 7:00 PM.
TRUST IN GOD
Quotes from the Saints
Entrust yourself entirely to God. He is a Father and a most loving Father at that, who would rather let heaven and earth collapse than abandon anyone who trusted Him.
--St. Paul of the Cross
The more you abandon to God the care of temporal things, the more He will take care to provide for all your wants; but if, on the contrary, you try to supply all your own needs, Providence will allow you to continue to do just that, and then it may very well happen that even the necessities will be lacking, God thus reproving you for your lack of faith and reliance on Him.
– Jean Baptiste de la Salle
I have started houses with no more than the price of a loaf of bread and prayers, for with Him who comforts me, I can do anything.
- Frances Xavier Cabrini
He who trusts in himself is lost. He who trusts in God can do all things.
-Alphonsus Liguori
